| Indications |
 |
For use as a supplemental source of essential nutrients which are known to support skeletal development and conformation. CAL-GRO supplies both bone building and bone mineralising ingredients to help increase bone density in young horses. No fillers are used when making CAL-GRO. The use of CAL-GRO is particularly recommended for young stock (foals, yearlings, 2 year olds), in-foal and lactating mares.
Young bones need early strengthening. By paying attention to the mineral requirements of the foal during the last 3 months of gestation and subsequent growing years, bone density and skeletal strength can be significantly enhanced. After birth bone mineralisation happens at an accelerated pace, hence CAL-GRO's importance for weanlings, yearlings and 2 year olds.

The importance of minerals like calcium and phosphorous is well known and understood but we include another special ingredient derived from the bamboo plant. It's Organic Silicon and strong boned animals such as elephants and pandas have traditionally grazed the silicon rich leaves of the bamboo plant. Now animal studies including horse trials have demonstrated the super effect which bioavailable silicon has not just on bone formation but that it also plays a role in the formation of articular (joint) cartilage as well as being an integral component of connective tissue, such as ligaments and tendons.
