Glucosamine occurs naturally in the body. It has been professionally evaluated and is suitable for long-term use if necessary. The molecule is relatively small and easily diffuses throughout the body supporting and maintaining all the extra-cellular connective tissues. Glucosamine has a high affinity for cartilagenous tissue where it is readily incorporated into the proteoglycan molecules. In simple terms, proteoglycans are a combination of long chain amino sugars (oligosaccharides) known as glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) that are bound by special modified proteins.
Marine Collagen derived from pure Shark Cartilage is an organic source of Chondroitin Sulphate, Glucosamine and Hyaluronate, as well as naturally chelated Calcium and Phosphorus. It provides a range of nutrients to maintain the proper environment in the horses joint cartilage and bones as ageing and wear and tear occurs.
Inulin is a pre-biotic absorption catalyst finding increasing favour in healthy eating and food technology. An oligo-saccharide of plant origin, Inulin is a useful ingredient where improved calcium uptake has important benefits for the recipient.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and Manganese are other well documented ingredients and are known to serve an important role in maintaining health.
